The 58MEC Condensing Gas Furnace features ComfortHeat™ technology delivering two stages of gas heat. The furnace utilizes both a Primary and a Secondary Heat Exchanger to achieve up to 93.0% Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE). As a vital component to your home's cooling system, it circulates cool air throughout your home and can help selected 13 and 14 SEER Carrier air conditioners achieve added energy efficiency by up to 1.5 SEER*. It is CSA (AGA and CGA) certified for installation on combustible flooring, and in alcoves, basements, closets, attics, crawl spaces, garages, utility rooms, or in manufactured (mobile) homes with approved kit. The unit can be used in conjunction with a split-system product for cooling. The 58MEC can be installed as a 1-pipe or 2-pipe venting system. All units meet California Air Quality Management District emission requirements. All sizes are design certified in Canada. *As compared to the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute's standard coil-only rating when paired with selected Carrier evaporator coils.
